Open Question: Feminists demand equality, yet chivalry is still demanded of men?

I can't tell you how many woman say that a man should be chivalrous to women and do things for women, otherwise they are not a real man. If a man didn't try to save his own family I'd understand but I don't see how in this age of equality why men should be expected to die for any woman he doesn't know or care about some people say crap like "women are needed to repopulate the human species".
